The client approached us asking for an outdoor sauna with a glazed front. We discussed ideas together and came up with this design. It has thermo Radiata pine exterior and interior boarding, with a fibreglass pitched roof.
Installing a glazed front brings the outside, in, while allowing natural light to flood into the sauna in the daytime, and allowing you to watch the sunset in the evening.
Exposing a fully glazed front to the element brings with it some issues. Wind and rain can cause the door to move and allow water in. To stop water ingress we supplied and fitted shower type trims where necessary. And while the sauna is not in use, we sourced a pull down glass lock to keep the door from moving, this has easy opening from both sides for safety.
A client approached us to manufacture and install a sauna that would fit into a circular alcove in the swimming pool area of beautiful, private home. The previous quotations he had received were considerable and he was understandably pleased when we completed the project on time and at a price which was less than half of that quoted by others. As you can see the build was technically complex, as bending wood to this specification is not straight forward, but our skilled craftsmen delivered a great job.
As you can see the old steam room was looking very sorry for itself. We gave it a new lease of life with a full refurbishment giving it a more modern look.
We used black Granite bench tops and black floor tiles to give the room a nice contrasting finish against the lighter wall and under bench tiles.
The sauna in this centre was way past its best. The benching was loose and the cladding wasn't in the best shape.
We gave it a full overhaul with new cladding, bulkhead, Underbench support modules, fireboard, door, heaters, lighting, backrests and bench fronts. The result is a much fresher feel while also making it completely safe for use as a commercial sauna.
For this sauna we used a Thermo Aspen from Thermory. The Aspen is Thermally modified to create a thermowood that is durable, stable, functional and stunningly beautiful. Big temperature changes and high moisture levels mean sauna timbers are subjected to harsh conditions. Thermowoods are tough, smooth and knot-free, perfect for use in high end Saunas.
The left hand exterior was boarded with a 10mm waterproof tile backer board for a shower to go alongside.
We gave this Sauna a modern feel by glazing the front, and part of the side wall. Having a glass fronted sauna gives the feel of a much larger sauna when you are tight for space, and also brings in plenty of natural light.
